EasyMelt™ Screw
The EasyMelt™ screw from Xaloy combines the simplicity and economy of a conventional three zone screw with the productivity and quality benefits of optimum material feeding, melting and metering. The EasyMelt screw is a significant improvement over the ‘General Purpose’ screw and can be customized for your specific resin .
Efficient Melting
With the correct and resin specific feed depth, compression ratio and zone lengths, the EasyMelt™ screw delivers fully melted material to the metering zone. This avoids a major cause of intermittent short shots: partially filled flights and pressure instability in the metering zone.
Precise Metering
Insufficient depth in the metering zone for a given resin can reduce plasticizing rates by 28% or more, but for some resins an excessive metering depth will not deliver the correct shear to the resin. Designing the correct metering depth allows a uniform melt to be delivered to the mould.
